scrapbookers and paper crafters in the surrounding areas. Staffed only by its founders and one other team member, Clipper Street Scrapbook Company embarked on what would become a very exciting journey.
Clipper Street Scrapbook Company began its reputation here.
In January of 2002, we surprised our customers and opened on Marine Drive in North Vancouver, which met the demands of the North Shore, which was desperate for a location to call their own.
Into our second year, things started to feel a little tight as growth continued. Space quickly became an issue in Coquitlam and more classroom space was needed to meet the growing demand for instructional workshops. Walls somehow kept coming down and we added to the store bit by bit.
In October of 2003, Creating Keepsakes University (CKU) came to Vancouver for the first Canadian stop in history! People from all over the world came to participate in what would be an unprecedented weekend of scrapbooking in Canada. Lisa Bearnson, founding editor of CK Magazine, declared Clipper Street Scrapbook Company as, “My favorite store!” She ran a feature article on Clipper Street in the pages of Creating Keepsakes Magazine a few months later.
In the summer of 2004, we announced that we would be opening two more locations somewhere in the Lower Mainland. By the end of October, our Richmond and Langley locations were open for business.
In January of 2005, we attended the annual “CHA Winter” scrapbook convention in Atlanta, Georgia. It was at this convention that we would learn from many popular manufacturer’s and industry icons, that Clipper Street Scrapbook Company was now known and referred to as the “Largest scrapbook-company in Canada!” |
