What’s a Scrapbook?
A scrapbook is a creative way for you to share and preserve your family history using your personal photographs and things you have collected along the way. Scrapbooks are more than just photo albums, they preserve priceless memories and keepsakes to share with friends and family for generations to come. A scrapbook is a place to share your experiences, stories and thoughts.

Preservation
Acid free or acid neutral and lignin free products are what you need to work with to ensure your photos are safe. Archival safe paper, inks, scrapbooking adhesives and much more are manufactured specifically for the scrapbooking industry.
Above all, you need to keep long-term preservation in mind. Magnetic photo albums, widely used in the past will actually destroy your pictures instead of preserving them, due to their high level of acidity. Acid, which is found in most things, including your fingertips, will cause your photos to fade, yellow and sometimes become brittle. If your photos are exposed to extreme elements such as, moisture, hot and cold swings, direct sunlight, dust, rough handling, a high level of acid or an imbalance in pH levels you may find that your photos will not last. Proper care and storage of your photos and scrapbooks is imperative to archiving your life.
